Springs man wanted for strangling girlfriend

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are looking for a man who is accused of strangling his girlfriend.

Officers said 25-year-old Ian Gilmer strangled his girlfriend just before 10 a.m. Sept. 7, but he was not there when officers arrived at the home in the 1200 block of West Colorado Avenue.

Officers have had trouble finding Gilmer because he is listed as homeless. He is wanted for criminal attempt second degree murder, second degree assault and child abuse.

The woman was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
