COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have announced the release of a convicted sex offender who is now living in the city.
Daniel Murphy has moved to the city for the third time since being convicted in 2000. He is currently living in the 3000 block of East Platte Avenue.
Murphy was convicted of first degree sex abuse in 2000, forcible touching in 2003, and was convicted three times for failure to register as a sex offender - twice in New York in 2003 and 2008 and once in Colorado Springs in 2010.
He has been in the city since 2009 but has twice gone to prison for violating parole.
The 37-year-old is a white man, 5'5" and weighs 180 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
