COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The driver of a moped will have to have facial surgery after he was hit by a truck on South Academy Boulevard Thursday night.
According to Colorado Springs Police officers, the moped's driver was going south on Academy around 9:37 p.m. when a truck turning north onto Academy from Verde Drive hit it.
The truck's driver stopped briefly before leaving the area.
The 26-year-old man who was on the moped was taken to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries to his face.
The truck is full-size and dark, possibly dark green with dark tinted windows. Anyone with information on this crash should call police at (719) 444-7000.
