COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A downed light pole on Powers Boulevard in Colorado Springs backed up traffic for about 30 minutes Monday.

The light pole, which was in the median just south of Galley Road, fell onto Powers around 11:40 a.m. and was cleared before 12:30 p.m. The pole was initially blocking the inside lanes of traffic in both directions, but crews moved it onto the southbound lanes, leaving only one lane open until they could get it to the shoulder.

Southbound traffic was backed up as far north as Constitution Boulevard.

The pole did not hit any cars when it fell, and no one was hurt.  Utility crews did not give a reason for why the pole fell.
