SOUTHERN COLORADO -- President Barack Obama wrapped up his two-day, four-stop tour through Colorado with visits to Pueblo and Colorado Springs Thursday.

He began in Pueblo with tough attacks on challenger Mitt Romney.

Obama told thousands at the state fairgrounds that his presumptive Republican opponent wants to raise taxes on the middle class to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy. He said "they have tried to sell us this trickle-down tax cut fairy dust before."

Obama also blasted Romney for backing an Arizona-style immigration laws and for opposing a tax cut for wind energy.

Pueblo is home to a Vestas wind turbine plant.

The President then went to Colorado Springs. The Gazette reported that about 4,200 people turned out at Colorado College to see him. Some began lining up at 8 a.m., six hours before the president took the stage.

Obama again attacked Mitt Romney on taxes.

Joined by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Obama flew from Pueblo to Peterson Air Force Base. There he was greeted by military leaders as well as 50 soldiers and family members.

On Wednesday, Obama denounced Romney's stances on women's issues in Denver.

Colorado is a pivotal swing state in November. Last week, Romney unveiled his own economic plan here and said Obama had failed to revive the economy.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this story.
