COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Charges are pending against the driver of a car that hit a moped Wednesday night in Colorado Springs.

Colorado Springs Police officers said a driver was turning left into the Costco from westbound Barnes Road in eastern Colorado Springs when the car hit the moped.

The moped's driver, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital with significant head injuries.

Officers said they haven't arrested anyone yet, but charges are pending.

Traffic was rerouted away from Barnes during the incident.
