SOUTHERN COLORADO -- Officials with the Colorado Department of Education released the 2012 Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP) test results Wednesday, and numbers are relatively flat in southern Colorado compared with 2011.

The TCAP, which is a new standardized test taken by students in grades 3-10 until a tougher test begins in 2014, measures proficiency in reading, writing, math and science.

In southern Colorado, results did not change much from the comparable 2011 test.
