COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested a man who had violated a restraining order after a nearly six-hour standoff Tuesday morning.

Around 5:32 a.m., 37-year-old Dustin Romero's wife told officers he entered her house in the 2700 block of HangTree Court and had several weapons. When officers got there, Romero said he would hurt them and his wife if they tried to arrest him.

Officers tried to get him to come out of the house but couldn't until 11:25 a.m., when he finally gave up after calling family members from a phone officers had thrown into the house for him.

Charges against Romero have not been announced, but officers said the restraining order was violated when he entered the home.
