DENVER -- A man who walked away from an assisted living facility has been found and is in custody.

Colorado Springs Police officers said 74-year-old Wayne Lufkin was found in Denver Monday morning and was taken into custody.

Lufkin had been staying in a facility in the 2400 block of East Fountain Boulevard when he walked away without telling staff Sunday morning. Staff saw him there around 2 a.m. but couldn't find him when they went to check on him around 3:15 a.m.

Lufkin had statewide warrants for giving false information to police and criminal impersonation. He was also convicted of murder in Oregon and had an outstanding parole violation.
