COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A Colorado Springs motorcycle officer is in the hospital after crashing into an SUV during a chase Tuesday afternoon.

According to witnesses who saw the chase and crash on Austin Bluffs Parkway at Silver Drive, the officer slammed into an SUV, whose driver swerved in front of him.

Officials have not confirmed anything other than the fact that northbound lanes of Austin Bluffs were closed between Oro Blanco and Old Fam.

One witness said the officer was trying to pull somebody over but didn't give any other details.

Nobody else was confirmed injured.
