COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A homeowner who evicted his tenants more than two weeks ago found a shocking surprise when he went to check on his house Monday.
The man, who owns a home in the 3100 block of North Prospect Street, evicted his tenants June 30. When he came back Monday, he saw people in the garage, so he called police.
Colorado Springs Police officers arrived to find the suspects taking apart a stolen car. After searching the area, they found evidence that showed manufacturing of a methamphetamine lab.
HazMat crews searched the home more carefully and labeled the lab "inactive" and said no nearby evacuations were necessary.
Officers haven't arrested anyone yet and will continue to investigate the home.
