COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A drunk driver who Colorado Springs Police officers said was speeding crashed his car into a guardrail, catching it on fire Sunday morning.
Officers said 55-year-old Mark Untiedt crashed his car around 10:30 a.m. while exiting I-25 onto the eastbound Highway 24 ramp. His car hit the rail and caught fire, and a witness helped him out of the car.
Colorado Springs firefighters put the fire out, and medical teams too Untiedt to the hospital.
Officers said no one else w as in the car, and Untiedt's injuries are not life-threatening. He was arrested after being released from the hospital.
The bypass ramp was closed for about 45 minutes while crews removed the car and debris from the road.
