LONGMONT, COLO. (AP) -- A man accused in a crash that caused a pregnant woman to lose her baby is being held on $100,000 bond.
Longmont police say Gary Sheats is suspected of colliding with a vehicle in an intersection Thursday afternoon, leaving a 27-year-old pregnant woman in critical condition, her mother with serious injuries and her 5-year-old son with minor injuries. The fetus was killed.
The collision pushed the woman's vehicle into a third vehicle, but no other injuries were reported.
Sheats was being held on suspicion of charges including driving under the influence, vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
The Times-Call reports a judge set bond Friday at $100,000. Prosecutor Michael Foote says Sheats has multiple DUI offenses and had a blood-alcohol level of .292 after the crash.
