COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Members of the media were allowed into the Mountain Shadows neighborhood Monday for the first time since the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history torched 346 houses and left two dead.
Residents of the burned homes were told late last week of the devastation and were allowed into the neighborhood for the first time over the weekend.
The Waldo Canyon Fire is 70 percent contained and is burning more than 17,000 acres. Since Tuesday's tragic burning, crews have been making steady progress and estimate full containment in a little more than a week.
Above are some photos of the damage aftermath.
