COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- One person was shot and another was assaulted after a disturbance turned violent at at apartment building in Colorado Springs Monday night.
Colorado Springs Police officers said a small group of friends were talking on the stairway landing of the Cedar Creek Apartments in the 1100 block of South Chelton Road around 11 p.m. when a group of 3-5 men came into the building.
The two groups began arguing, and the argument turned into a fight. During the fight, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot a member of the first group, sending him to the hospital.
Officers later found another victim who had been assaulted by the second group, and he was also taken to a hospital.
Both victims' injuries were non life-threatening.
Officers checked the area but couldn't find the suspects. They said it appeared the suspects knew the victims.
