COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police are calling the death of a man found in the city Wednesday suspicious, but they don't yet know how he died.

Officers said a homeless man found the 50-year-old man's body in a vacant lot while wandering in the area near Mount Washington Avenue and St. Elmo Avenue south of downtown.

The body was near a makeshift campsite, and the Homeless Outreach Team recognized the man as a transient they had dealt with before.

Officers have not released any other information about his identity or how he died.
