COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers responded to a shooting Tuesday night at the Dove Tree apartment complex in the 300 block of Lionstone Drive near Platte Avenue and Murray Boulevard.
The lieutenant on scene confirmed a 2-year-old was shot in the chest. The child was taken to the hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Three people were inside the home when the handgun went off, two of whom are the child's parents. All three are being questioned by CSPD. The public is not in any danger.
Right now, the investigation is centered around the people in the apartment. No arrests have been made, and no other information was given.
A neighbor said they're sick of the violence in the area and are considering moving.
