COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs resident has died after being shot Saturday night.

Springs Police were originally called to a home on N. Nevada Avenue around 10:00 p.m. for an accidental shooting.

The victim, 27-year-old James Crouch, was taken to Penrose Main Hospital where he died Sunday morning.

Police said their initial investigation showed Crouch, and 22-year-old David McRea, were looking at guns when Crouch was accidentally shot in the chest by a gun McRea was holding.

McRea has since been arrested on charges of second degree assault and manslaughter.

This is the tenth homicide in Colorado Springs this year.

Anyone with additional information on the shooting is asked to call police at 444-7000 or text them at TIP411.
