COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Studio 7 has come a long way since we last hung out with them in 2008.

The Colorado Springs band released its first ever album this year, "Tacos for Two." It's selling on iTunes. That's something drummer, Jake Goodsell, never thought would be possible.

But the ties between Goodsell and his bandmate, Dani Kaylyn, run deeper than the success they've seen with Studio 7.

Since our last meeting, Kaylyn too has been diagnosed with Type One diabetes.

It's something she helped Goodsell through when he was diagnosed.

Now, they're battling this incurable disease together.

One of their favorite gigs is performing at the JDRF Walk.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is something Goodsell and Kaylyn take advantage of in Colorado Springs.

But, Goodsell and Kaylyn admit performing on stage while trying to manage blood sugar levels isn't always easy.

Thankfully, their other bandmates watch for signs and help the two if they start feeling bad.

"Sometimes you don't even feel it. You just start thinking abnormally, and it catches you off guard and scares you," Kaylyn said.

That's why you'll always find a little snack and maybe a Gatorade or two sitting beside Kaylyn's foot pedal.

But the two are certainly not alone in their battle against diabetes.

In fact, 21 million Americans live with the disease everyday. And, a new person is told they have the disease every 30 seconds.
