COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man who attacked his ex-girlfriend multiple times Sunday night and resisted officers was finally stunned and arrested.
Colorado Springs Police officers arrived at the Citadel Apartment complex in the 3600 block of East Uintah Street around 9:19 p.m. after residents called them to tell them 29-year-old David Bloom was "out of control" and assaulting people.
According to witnesses, Bloom and his girlfriend went to his brother's apartment in the complex Sunday evening. When they got there, Bloom's ex-girlfriend was there with another man. Bloom punched his ex in the face, prompting the other man to hit him. The fight eventually spilled out into the complex parking lot, where the group isolated Bloom.
The victims were able to run back into the apartment and lock the door, but Bloom forced his way back in and again attacked his ex and her friend.
Officers later confronted Bloom in the parking lot. Bloom resisted them and refused to comply. After a brief tussle, officers used a stun gun on Bloom and arrested him.
Bloom's ex-girlfriend was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after the attack, and her friend was treated at the apartment for minor injuries.
Bloom is facing first degree burglary charges.
