COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A new family fun center has opened its doors in Colorado Springs.
Brunswick Zone opened an XL location Wednesday on Interquest Parkway, right off of I-25.
Most Brunswick Zones are known as bowling alleys, but this location offers more than just that.
"We've got 50,000 square feet of fun here at Brunswick Zone XL Interquest," Mike Marquez, General Manager, said. "We've got 36 lanes of bowling, we've got this nice game room with 50 plus video and redemption games, nice prize room for the kids."
Those who showed up to check it out on opening day said they were impressed.
"I think it's really fun," Delaney Casey said.
"It's really fun but some of the games are hard," Keegan Casey said.
"It's an exciting day here for us," Marquez said.
Connie Brown said they have been keeping track and waiting for the facility to open its doors.
"I love that they have the laser tag for the kids, and that they have lots of neat things for kids parties," she said.
They have more than just laser tag, they have two stories of it, and a full service bar and grill for the adults.
"We took bowling into the new generation right now. For many years our traditional bowling centers suited us very well. As demographics change we've got these different venues that we've added in, and it's a fun one-stop entertainment for families," Marquez said.
In addition to bringing more entertainment to the area, the center also brought more jobs.
"We did a job fair that lasted four days. We interviewed about 600 people and we added about 140 hourly and salary positions here," Marquez said.
