Standoff ends with suicidal suspect arrested

PUEBLO WEST, COLO. -- A standoff that lasted almost three hours late Monday night ended after SWAT teams were able to arrest a suicidal man who had threatened family members and himself.

Pueblo County Sheriff's deputies arrived to the home in the 600 block of Paradise Road in Pueblo West around 9:30 p.m. after one of the people inside called for help.

Deputies said 53-year-old Michael Seedorf had been threatening family members with suicide and showing them a gun. All of the family members were eventually able to get out, but it took deputies a while to finally get to Seedorf.

Throughout the standoff, deputies said they saw him with two different guns. Around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were able to break windows and were able to secure him without using dogs.

Seedorf faces menacing with a deadly weapon and prohibited use of a weapon charges. Deputies said Seedorf may have been drinking.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
