COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A former Colorado Springs Police officer and middle school wrestling coach accused of sexually assaulting at least 22 boys will not testify in his trial.
Joshua Carrier told the judge Tuesday morning he will not take the stand, protecting him from cross-examination by prosecutors.
Carrier is facing more than 200 criminal charges stemming from the alleged assaults as well as possession of child pornography. He was an assistant wrestling coach at Horace Mann Middle School last season, during which he allegedly touched the boys inappropriately while performing "skin checks."
Carrier's lawyers are expected to rest their case Tuesday. They have one witness left to call, with closing arguments from both sides to follow.
