COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are investigating two robberies that happened at two different stores Sunday night.
The first happened around 6:14 p.m. when a man came into the Big Lots store in the 1900 block of South Academy Boulevard and forcefully took money.
Officers said store employees never saw a weapon but said he took an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away on foot. A K-9 search was unsuccessful.
Employees said he is a black man in his late 20s with a thin build. He wore a beanie-style hat, a yellow striped shirt and pants.
About five hours later, a liquor store was robbed.
Officers said three men came into Circle Liquor in the 400 block of South Circle Drive around 11:15 p.m., pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk said they took an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone.
The clerk said all three men wore dark-colored hoodies or jackets with blue bandanas covering their faces. They are all between 5'9" and 6'2."
Officers said no one was hurt in either robbery.
