COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested a man allegedly responsible for a March 6 robbery after he tried robbing another convenience store Monday night.
Officers said a witness called them saying a suspicious man wearing dark clothing and a gas mask was carrying a gun and peeking around the corner toward the front of the Loaf N Jug store in the 3700 block of Drennan Road around 10:50 p.m. Monday.
When officers arrived, the man ran behind the store into a drainage ditch. Officers lost him there but set up a perimeter.
They later found a suspicious car in a nearby mobile home park with "suspicious items" in plain sight inside. Officers later saw the same man who had ran from them earlier and were able to chase and contain him in a nearby apartment building.
The man, 20-year-old Gregory Schultz, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery for the Diamond Shamrock robbery, as well as attempted robbery for the Monday incident.
The car is also registered to him.
