COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- When it comes to consumer complaints there's a slew of businesses that make the list, including cable companies, health providers and financial planning consultants.

More than 7,000 consumers filed complaints with the Colorado Attorney General's Office in 2011, a 12.9 percent increase over 2010.

So, what's the number one problem company in Colorado Springs?

According to the Better Business BureauLrumar Publications LLC takes the top spot for most complaints in 2011.

The door-to-door magazine subscription company has a 'D' rating and a list of complaints that go back three years.

Based on consumer complaints the Falcon company has a reputation of not providing magazines that have been paid for and failing to let customers cancel subscriptions.

There have been 306 complaints reported to the BBB since 2009.

Rounding out the top three are new and used auto dealers, which, based on their volume of customers, are regulars on the consumer complaints list.

"Do your research, especially with used cars, it's not an exact science so things don't always go as the owner thinks it's going to," Carol Odell, Executive Director of the BBB, said.

When it comes to complaints, we've all had our fare share, but it looks like the slow down in the economy has pushed consumers to do their homework.

BBB inquiries have gone up 30 percent, good news for consumers looking to make the best buy possible.
