Update: Crews have found footprints near where Sidney went missing

FREMONT COUNTY, COLO. -- The Fremont County Sheriff's Office is asking the community for help finding a missing child.

Around 3:30 Sunday afternoon, officials received a report of a missing 9-year-old girl in the Copper Gulch area of Fremont County.

According to deputies, the child went outside to play around 8 a.m. and has not been seen since.

They said her parents notified law enforcment after spending several hours searching unsuccessfully.

The girl's name is Sidney Peet. She is described as 4'6" with short dark brown hair and brown eyes.

She may be wearing a black snowsuit over red pajamas with pink shoes and a pink baseball cap.

It is believed Sidney is also carrying a pink backpack full of dolls.

Fremont Search and Resuce have been called out to help search for Sidney.

They said she may be headed to Grand Junction, which is where her biological mother lives.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office dispatch at (719) 784-3411.
