COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers said one person was in custody while another was at large following the chase of a stolen car early Tuesday morning.

The incident first began in the 3900 block of Harmony Drive near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Academy Boulevard after a car was stolen.

Officers said the stolen car was taken to the 1400 block of Tappan Circle where it was in the process of being taken apart.

A witness in the area called officers, and just as officers arrived another car sped away from the scene, nearly crashing into the officer's patrol car.

Officers immediately began to follow the car and once behind the car, one man bailed out of it.

While the ordeal was taking place, the owner of the car that crashed into the fence called to report that car stolen.

Her information was challenged by officers, and she is being charged with false reporting to authorities and obstruction.

The investigation is ongoing.
