COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The outpouring of support for the families affected by the fatal fire at the Crest Mobile Home Park has been amazing.

Donations have been coming in non-stop for the Nauta family and their neighbors.

"These folks have nothing, they have nothing, this mom and her two kids lost everything including their two cars, their dogs, and of course her husband," family friend Shelly Harrison said.

But that is not the story Harrison and the Fountain community want the Nauta family and their neighbors to remember, but instead the love, support and generosity of those around them who are determined to help them through.

"This community has done some amazing things very quickly, and for the family to have that support, we really appreciate it," Harrison said.

Sunflower Properties, who manages the mobile home park, has opened up one of their vacant trailers for the Nauta family.

The community has already filled with it donations including clothes, shoes, furniture, beds, dishes and even a Christmas Tree - a testament to the caring nature of southern Colorado residents.

"This is a giving time, the holidays, and we should be volunteering and digging deep into our pockets, but tragedies however bring out more contributions," Harrison said. "It has been amazing, my phone has been ringing off the hook."

Along with the Nauta family, several others were also displaced.

If you would like to donate to any of them, you can drop donations off at the following locations:

- Fountain Fire Department #1 located at 212 North Santa Fe
- Fountain Fire Department #2 located at 8201 Fountain Mesa Rd
- Fountain Fire Department #3 located at 6625 Camden Blvd
- 7-Eleven Convenience Store on South Santa Fe
- Aragon Elementary 211 South Main Street

The Red Cross is also assisting the families, along with several other non-profits and organizations.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can do so at Academy Bank, account # 3783480
