ALAMOSA, COLO. -- Adams State College in Alamosa is reminding students of the dangers of meningitis after a student there was diagnosed with the disease.

School officals said the infected student does not live on campus.

They said doctors believe the student has the viral form of the disease, and not the more contagious bacterial form.

In response, Adams State students are being reminded to seek medical care promptly if they develop flu like symptoms, and are also being encouraged to get vaccinated.
