COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Two senior citizens suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to the hospital after they were beaten by three people who invaded their home Friday morning.

Colorado Springs Police officers said a black male in his late teens or early 20s knocked on the door in the 2100 block of Grafton Drive around 6:13 a.m. A woman in her 70s answered the door but spoke to the suspect without opening it.  The suspect forced his way in, followed by two accomplices, and beat the woman and a man in his 70s with guns.

Both the man and woman were taken to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
