TELLER COUNTY, COLO. -- The man accused of shooting at deputies during a welfare check has been caught after a brief search Thursday morning.
According to Teller County Sheriff's deputies, Kai Skov shot at a deputy car early Thursday morning when deputies were conducting a welfare check, allegedly because Skov had said he had a gun.
Skov fired two rounds into the air and one round at a deputy car. Nobody was hurt in the shooting, but Skov fled into a nearby wooded area, and deputies could not immediately locate him.
Deputies resumed the search in daylight in the northwestern part of the county. They evacuated residents in the immediate area and received assistance from surrounding law enforcement agencies.
Deputies did not say exactly what charges Skov will face.
