EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Two people have been arrested on first degree murder charges in the death of a man in El Paso County.
Officials with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said 55-year-old Robert Miles was shot in a home in the 15000 block of North Ellicott Highway Saturday night. He was flown to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The El Paso County Coroner conducted an autopsty Monday ruled the death a homicide with the cause being a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The investigation revealed 48-year-old Mark Manyik and 47-year-old Traci Adams were at the home at the time of the shooting, which was originally reported as a burglary in progress.
Adams is Miles' ex-girlfriend and was living with Manyik at the time of the shooting.
Both Adams and Manyik have been arrested for first degree murder, conspiracy to commit first degree murder, aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence. The two are being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center without bond.
An investigation is ongoing.
