Local soldier killed in Afghanistan

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Sad news from the Department of Defense.

A soldier from Colorado Springs has been killed in Afghanistan.

The DOD said 20-year-old Pfc. Christopher A. Horns died on Oct. 22 when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

Horns was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

He is survived by his parents Larry and Tamara Horns, and sister Tiffany of Colorado Springs.

Also killed, 24-year-old 1st Lt. Ashley White, and 29-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Kristoffer B. Domeij.
