FORT COLLINS, COLO. (AP) -- A Larimer County sheriff's patrol vehicle has collided with an SUV in Fort Collins, resulting in minor to moderate injuries to a deputy and three civilians.

Fort Collins police said the accident occurred late Monday when sheriff's Cpl. Travis Matkin saw a traffic violation, switched on his emergency lights and turned left into the path of the SUV.

Police say the SUV had a green traffic light and Matkin was in a left-turn lane with a red traffic light.

The deputy and the three civilians were treated for minor to moderate injuries at Poudre Valley Hospital and released.

Fort Collins police are investigating the collision and the Larimer County Sheriff's Department is reviewing the deputy's actions.
