COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Several Broncos fans are excited Tim Tebow will be the team's starting quarterback.
Coach John Fox said Tuesday that the Denver Broncos will start Tim Tebow instead of Kyle Orton against the Miami Dolphins when they return from their bye week.
"You know, I like Orton, but I just don't think he's pulling it off," Dan Johnson, a Broncos fan, said.
Johnson's opinion of Orton reflects Broncos jersey sales at Dick's Sporting Goods in Colorado Springs.
"Orton jerseys tend to just sit on the rack," Kenny McKee, the store manager, said. "I've got more Tebow jerseys than any other Bronco, including Kyle Orton."
McKee said the Fall season is the time of year when NFL jersey sales start picking up. Now that Tebow has been given the top spot, McKee said that will bring a big boost in jersey sales.
"We are going to sell more of [Tebow] than anybody else," he said. "I expect to sell three to one of him compared to anybody else."
Tebow's number 15 jersey was recently ranked as 24th among the top 25 jerseys sold on NFLShop.com, according to CNBC. It is also the best selling rookie jersey in the NFL. That's why McKee plans to keep a full stock of Tebow jerseys, especially since the holiday season is just weeks away.
"Whether he is the best player or not," McKee said, "the fans are behind Tebow at this point. We're going to load up our inventory with that in mind."
