WOODLAND PARK, COLO. -- Fall foliage is the best it's been in years, depending on who you ask.
There has been various moisture, but no major storm this fall. Leaves have remained on the trees longer, and the leaves, according to some residents, are even more vibrant, exhibiting more and different colors.
Peak viewing will only last until the middle of October or the first wind or winter storm.
Some locals suggest the following routes to view the foliage:
- Old Stage Road from Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek
- Highway 67 from Divide to Cripple Creek
- Teller County Road 1 from Divide to Cripple Creek
- Wilkerson Pass
- The "Highway of Legends" (Colorado State Highway 12)
- Monarch Pass
