COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested two people who attempted to attack them in separate incidents late Thursday night and early Friday morning.
Around 10:17 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 3300 block of Knotwood Drive in the city. A man allegedly threatened a woman with knives in the house, but he was outside when officers arrived.
After officers investigated and interviewed the woman, they arrested the man, Kristopher Rigdon, on domestic-related charges. Rigdon turned around and tried to physically fight the officers as he was being cuffed. No officers were hurt, and Rigdon had minor injuries after being placed on the ground following the altercation.
Fewer than two hours l after, around 12:05 a.m. Friday, a man called 911 because a woman would not leave his home in the 3600 block of Venice Grove. When officers arrived, they found out Roseanne Alirez had no reason to be in the home. Officers repeatedly told Alirez to leave, but she refused, saying she would fight them. When officers tried physically removing her, she kicked one of them.
Officers arrested Alirez for second degree assault on a peace officer and obstruction. The officer was not seriously injured.
