COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man who was shot in the head after a large disturbance on Bonita Village Road in Colorado Springs Monday evening has been identified.
Colorado Springs Police officers said 37-year-old Richard Campbell died at an area hospital Wednesday morning after being shot around 7 p.m. Monday in the 5500 block of the road. When officers responded, they found Campbell with a gunshot wound to the head.
Campbell was taken off life support around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The El Paso County Coroner ruled the death a homicide, the city's 24th of 2011. There were 17 at this time in 2010.
Officers said they are looking for Donny Lopez, a 5'6," 175 pound Hispanic man with tattoos on his neck and face, in connection with the shooting. They are asking anyone with information on Lopez's whereabouts to contact them.
