COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have released the name of the man who was shot and killed outside an apartment complex in the city Thursday night.
Officers said Thornton, Colo. resident Oscar 'James' Frias was shot near Hyde Park Apartments in the 2900 block of Tremont Street.
The El Paso County Coroner ruled Frias' death a homicide, saying he died from a gunshot.
Officers said it is the 23rd homicide in the city in 2011, compared to 17 at this time last year.
Witness saw a suspect flee the scene shortly after hearing several shots, but they could not provide a description.
However, officers release suspect information Friday, saying they are looking for 41-year-old Roy Saldivar from Colorado Springs. Saldivar is a 5'8," 180 pound Hispanic man with multiple tattoos. He is wanted on first degree murder charges.
Saldivar is at-large, and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
