Shell station robbed in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Shell gas station was robbed shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Colorado Springs Police officer were called to the gas station in the 400 block of West Garden of the Gods Road near the I-25 exit.

The clerk told police a suspect entered the store and demanded money.

When the clerk refused the man placed his hand inside his jacket and demanded the money again.

The clerk gave the suspect all the money in the register and a carton of cigarettes.

The suspect left on foot.

The clerk was not harmed.

The suspect was wearing jeans, white tennis shoes, and a tan zip-up jacket with a hood.

He was described as a white man, approximately 5'10," 160 pounds, in his late 20s to early 30s.
