COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are looking for a woman in connection with a shooting at the Chief Motel in the city Sept. 13.
Officers are looking for 21-year-old Brittney Angel, who is wanted on charges of felony eluding and tampering with evidence.
Angel is a Hispanic woman, about 5'4" and weighs about 145 pounds. He has a tattoo of a rose on the right side of her face.
Officers found 27-year-old Christen Vargas dead in a car at Memorial Hospital just hours after they believe she was the one behind the wheel of a car that ran over an El Paso County Sheriff deputy's foot and drove away from the motel.
The deputy was attempting to serve a warrant and fired a shot after being hit by the car.
Officers have not said if the deputy's shot was the one that killed Vargas, but the El Paso County Coroner ruled her death a homicide from a gunshot wound.
Officers have also not said exactly how Angel is related to the incident.
Anyone with information on Angel's whereabouts is asked to call officers.
