Man had more than 300 pills for sale

LAMAR, COLO. -- Lamar Police officers arrested a Las Animas man who allegedly had more than 300 prescription pills in his possession that he was trying to sell.

Officers with the Drug Interdiction Team arrested 32-year-old Richard Lee Tafoya Friday.

Tafoya is charged with unlawful distribution and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Investigators said the 300 pills found in Tafoya's possession have a street value of about $1,650.

Tafoya has a $50,000 bond and is at the Prowers County Jail. Officers said additional criminal charges are possible.
