EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- The District Attorney's Office has finished its investigation into an officer-involved shooting in El Pasco County and has determined the deputy was justified in his use of physical force.
On June 16, Deputy Jeffery Schulz was sent to a disturbance call at the intersection of Falcon and Ellicott Highway.
When the deputy arrived to speak with 54-year-old David Goss about the incident, officials said Goss became verbally abusive and began to approach the deputy.
The deputy used a stun gun on Goss and was attempting to stun him again when Goss tried to grab the deputy's gun.
During the struggle over the weapon the deputy fired three shots.
Goss was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
He has since recovered and has been charged in connection with the incident.
