PARK COUNTY, COLO. -- A late-night collision in Park County leaves one person dead.
The crash happened on Colorado 285 near milepost 195 Monday night.
The Colorado State Patrol said a motorcycle traveling northbound was passing vehicles when a tractor trailer heading the same direction tried to make left turn.
The rider, 56-year-old Victor Leutwyler, collided with the trailer's left side, was ejected and became trapped in the rear tires of the truck.
Authorities said Leutwyler, who was from Jefferson City, Mo., died at the scene.
He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the tractor trailer was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.
Authorities said improper passing and speed appear to be factors in the crash.
