COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested a man following a disturbance at a birthday party early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to a home near 31st Street and Kiowa in the city around 2:10 a.m. in response to a man who was wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a shotgun in the neighborhood.
Police said the suspect, Michael Lucero, had caused a disturbance during a birthday party at his ex-girlfriend's house.
They said when he was asked to leave, he grabbed two bulletproof vests from his car and a pump shotgun and went back inside to confront partygoers.
A short time later, officers located Lucero's vests and shotgun, and arrested him for possession of weapons by a previous offender.
