COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- More details about a deadly shooting last month at an AutoZone are released, and a third suspect has been arrested.
Wednesday Colorado Springs Police officers arrested 48-year-old Frani Olivas at the El Paso County Courthouse.
She was appearing for an unrelated incident when police arrested her for accessory to first degree murder.
She is the third person to be arrested in relation to the shooting on July 27 that left one man dead and another injured.
Copies of the arrest affidavits for Ernest Schmidt, his wife Dawn Morgan and Frani Olivas shed light onto what happened that deadly night.
On July 27 police responded to a chaotic scene at AutoZone, near Palmer Park and Powers Boulevard in the city.
Police found 39-year-old Joaquin Paniagua dead in the parking lot and 54-year-old Donald Laroe with gunshot wounds.
According to the affidavits Laroe told police he had gone to AutoZone to return a fuel pump and left his work van outside the store unlocked.
When he came back he said he heard a noise in the back of his van and saw Ernest Schmidt, a.k.a. Edward Coffey, pointing a pistol at him.
Laroe told police he tried to reason with Schmidt who wanted his wallet.
He refused, and that's when he was shot.
According to the documents Schmidt then forced 36-year-old Jose Luis Garcia at gunpoint into his car.
Garcia said Schmidt fired two shots at his friend Paniagua, who fell to the ground.
Schmidt then forced Garcia to drive him to Palmer Park and Academy, where he let Garcia go.
Garcia told police Schmidt held his gun to his heart and head and told him he would kill him if he stopped for police.
Garcia said he believed he was going to die.
According to the affidavits during the kidnapping Schmidt used Garcia's cell phone to place several calls to Frani Olivas.
About a week later Schmidt and his wife, 35-year-old Dawn Morgan, were arrested at the Crosslands Economy Studios near Fountain and Chelton.
Morgan later told police that on July 27, she, Schmidt, Olivas, and another woman named Linda were at WalMart across the street from AutoZone when Schmidt said he wanted to get money that they needed for an apartment.
Morgan said Schmidt told her he was going to sell his gun or rob somebody if he had to.
She told police the plan was for Schmidt to take someone's wallet, and then Olivas would get money from their credit cards.
Morgan said she dropped Schmidt off at AutoZone and didn't see him again until the next day when he and Olivas picked her up at the Safeway near 26th and Colorado Avenue.
The three then got rooms at the Motel 6 on Chestnut.
Morgan said Schmidt began crying and said the guy wrestled with him and that all he was trying to do was get the money.
According to the documents, surveillance video was found that showed Olivas meeting up with Schmidt the night of the shooting at the Studebaker Bar & Grill on North Academy Boulevard.
However, during an interview with police Olivas said she met Morgan on July 27 at WalMart after she ran out of gas.
She said she met Schmidt for the first time the following day when Morgan called her for a ride.
Olivas said she later took the two to her mother's house, who recognized Schmidt from the news and asked her "what the hell she was doing?"
Olivas called police on Aug. 1, and gave them Schmidt and Morgan's location.
Both Morgan and Olivas have been arrested for accessory to first degree murder.
Olivas' first court appearance is Thursday.
Schmidt and Morgan's next court appearances are on Sept. 15.
