COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have confirmed a woman is dead after being hit by a car in the Chapel Hills Mall parking lot in the northern part of the city just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
According to officers, a woman was walking with her husband in the parking garage area near Dillard's when she was hit by an unknown person driving a white SUV.
Medical officials transported her to the hospital, where she died. Her husband is in unknown condition.
Officers searched the area and found the SUV abandoned nearby, but they have not located the suspect.
No information on the woman's age or identity was available, and officers did not say who they were looking for.
