Soldier wanted for girl's disappearance

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A soldier who is missing from his Army post is wanted in connection with his missing daughter.

Colorado Springs Police officers are looking for Derik Embree in connection with the disappearance of Brooke Embree, his 1-month-old daughter.

The El Paso County Department of Human Services contacted officers Aug. 4 about Brooke, who was reported missing. According to officers, Embree had custody of his daughter but violated the custody order.

Embree is AWOL from his U.S. Army post and is wanted on the felony charge of violation of a custody order

Officers have not released any other information about the incident, but the Crimes Against Children Unit is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of either person to contact police.
