COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs woman entered a plea in a child abuse case involving her own daughter.

Samantha Salaz pleaded guilty in court Wednesday as part of a deal in which she agreed to testify against her aunt, Mary Horsley.

Both of the woman were arrested back in April after paramedics were called to the home for reports of a toddler who was not breathing.

Investigators said there was evidence that the young girl had been put in a cold shower with black electrical tape over her eyes and mouth.

They said she also had tape around her wrists and ankles.

Salaz could be sentenced to 14-28 years in prison at a hearing in September.
